Collaborative Problem Solving

Michael Uram utilizes techniques based on Collaborative Problem Solving as described in Dr. Ross Greene’s book, the Explosive Child. This subtype of cognitive behavioral therapy can be very helpful with children and adolescents diagnosed with Asperger’s Disorder. This technique helps parents manage their child’s response to anxiety inducing events or triggers.
CPS is parents and children working together to resolve conflict. Including the child in the creation of the resolution to the issue decreases the level of conflict and builds the child’s ownership in the result. I
